2024년 8월 입고된 온두라스 COE 5위 농장에서 수확한 커피입니다.  

 

지난해 열린 온두라스 COE 대회에서 2위를 하고 올해 5위를 차지한 커피입니다. 작년에 91.08점으로 최고등급인 프레지덴셜에 등극했고 온두라스 COE에서 게이샤 품종으로는 최고 점수를 받았던 커피로 올해 역시 90점이 넘는 아주 뛰어난 퀄리티를 보여줬습니다.

 

농장주 Dolmin Josue는 Santa Bárbara에 있는 El Cedral 마을에 위치한 Finca Las Virginias를 운영하고 있습니다. 그는 지난해 커피미업이 높은 가격에 낙찰한 덕분에 생계를 이어나갈 수 있었다고 인터뷰를 했습니다. 총 10여명이 운영하는 이 농장은 게이샤와 파카스 등의 품종을 주로 재배하고 있습니다.

 

농장주 돌민의 철학은 청결이 가장 우선순위입니다. 커피맛은 깨끗한 환경속에서 나온다고 믿고 있기 때문이죠. 그 다음이 커피가 잘 자랄 수 있는 그늘이라 믿기에 구아모 나무를 이용해서 고르게 쉐이딩을 쳐 주고 있다고 합니다. 힘든 상황속에서도 묵묵히 최고의 커피를 만드는 이 곳을 내년에는 꼭 방문해서 소식 전하겠습니다.
